Small and medium Enterprises (SMEs) which form majority in the Japanese enterprises have played a crucial role in the economic development of Japan. The source of Japan's economic vitality lies in SMEs which are expected to play a huge role in carrying out the smooth structural change of the Japanese economy and for stable economic development from here and out.
In the current severe economic climate, SMEs must demonstrate their creativity and must carry out measures to respond to structural changes aggressively.
SME complex areas are suffering from dwindling vitality in local regions. They must optimize both the characteristics and networking merits of their localities, and revitalize their businesses.
The Japan Small Business Research Institute (JSBRI), an SME think tank, conducts research, gathers information, provides information, and promotes association with overseas SME organizations. JSBRI also assists in the revitalization of SME complex areas. Its contribution to the development of SMEs is seen in many areas.
Based on our philosophy, "Creating Small Businesses With Vitality", we strive to accomplish two objectives: "Serving as a professional think tank for SMEs", and "Assisting local SME support organizations". JSBRI desires to contribute to the development of SMEs which are the core of Japan's economic development.
